I placed an order for some earrings and…

I placed an order for some earrings and was given a delivery date and told an email confirmation would be sent when the item was dispatched. No email was received, so 2 days before the suggested delivery date I phoned to see how the order was progressing. I was told the order had been passed over to one of your shops. The kind customer services lady said she would make enquiries and I would receive an email later that day. Sadly, no email was received and I called the following day. I was told the shop had not dispatched the item as they were currently out of stock. I understand and accept they may have been out of stock but at no time was I informed of this. If I had been, I would have chosen another item. Sadly, I had to cancel the order as the earrings were for a 21st birthday the following day. I am very disappointed with the communication, which was nil, all conversations were instigated by myself.

The staff were great what let the review down is the technology, I paid for insurance against damage but the receipt never printed but the email was taken so was told I would receive email with the policy number on it but I’m still to receive this email but receive plenty of marketing emails

H. “Chin the customer off” Samuel.

I understand that mistakes happen, but there’s absolutely no excuse for failing to deliver basic service at multiple points in a single purchase.I placed an order through the H. Samuel website. The product was swiftly despatched, but the product that had arrived was incorrect. Mistakes happen.Upon trying to call H. Samuel to rectify the problem, I found that their customer service department did not work on weekends. Very unusual for a big retail chain, but it was what it was.Upon calling my local H. Samuel store, they quickly advised that the correct product I ordered was available in another store - according to their system. I was keen to phone the store first because the store was a 30 minute drive away and I did not want to make the journey just to find that their system was wrong, the product wasn’t where their system had said it was, and I had made the long journey for nothing. However, after various attempts to phone the store, leaving intervals between the attempts in the assumption that the store may be busy, the phone calls were never answered. I decided to take a chance and drive 30 minutes to the store, where I was told that their system was incorrect and the product wasn’t there. I explained that I had tried to phone ahead to avoid this exact situation, to which the shop assistant responded “oh, that was you calling?”. This indicated that not only had they received the calls, but that they had purposefully ignored it.Currently, I have been told that the correct product is being sent to my local store (hopefully) for me to collect on the following weekend. This is a product that I had originally ordered for delivery, that I now have to go and collect, after driving an hour round trip in attempt to rectify an issue that is ultimately down to poor service from H. Samuel.Mistakes happen, but multiple failures to provide a basic service and then leaving the customer to go out of their way to rectify a problem caused by H.Samuel is just appalling. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement.Please excuse the war and peace length review but I hope the context and detail will allow readers to draw their own conclusions as to whether a company that seem incompetent at worst and indifferent at best is where they want to place the trust of what could be a very expensive purchase, when there are competitors that can get these basic things right.

Great name, grate service!

Very poor experience where the intimation is that the delivery can be put in a safe place but, in reality, this is not the case. Despite leaving a note outside my flat door saying, “Please leave delivery here”, I was informed that a signatory is required. I’m single and cannot have it delivered to my workplace. Other couriers fulfil my request above but not the one used by H.Samuel, so I won’t be making any further purchases from this company.

Didn't cancel order, though said it was.

Let me help Luke and H.Samuel out-I've bought several items from them with no problems other than the plastic and paper covering missing from watch face and bracelets.I always recommend them as they are near the last bastion to actually look and try on watches in most cities high Streets.(Logged in) I wanted to see the price with a voucher code added.The second time the voucher code section is missing from the right hand side and it goes straight from PayPal to paid without the H.Samuel confirmation page.I'll have to send this one back too,I immediately phoned and asked to cancel the order,was told it was cancelled, but nope it wasn't,it still shipped; That's the second time they lied/(system failed) about cancelling the order and didn't.I walked to a H.Samuel store and will be refunded in time.
